Recycling where kerbside collection is not feasible Newport Wastesavers provides a communal recycling service for flats and sheltered housing schemes in Newport. Residents can recycle paper, glass, cans, tins and plastic bottles by using the special wheeled bins.
The bins are placed in a location convenient for all residents (usually a bin store) and are emptied weekly by our side loading vehicle. Each resident is given a recycling bag, along with an information leaflet to help them collect their materials for recycling. Residents then take the filled bags to the bins at their recycling site. .jpg)
Why are there four bins? The four bins are important to keep each of the materials separate. Our recycling process means that the materials are sorted into glass, paper, plastic and cans at source and not in our depot. This reduces the contamination of the materials and means we can recycle 100 per cent of what you put out.
What can i recycle? The scheme has been designed to take the following items for recycling:
Get involved! Wastesavers’ communal recycling scheme is available for those people in communal residential facilities, such as flats or sheltered housing schemes.
